Continental changes checked bag rules Monday, 12 October 2009
US carrier Continental Airlines has announced changes to checked baggage costs in the Asia-Pacific region.
For flights within the Asia-Pacific region and between Japan and destinations in the Asia-Pacific region, customers who purchase certain economy tickets on or after November 1, 2009 will be able to check one bag free and pay US$30 for a second checked bag. The policy takes effect for travel on or after December 8, 2009 on flights within the Asia-Pacific region and for travel on or after April 1, 2010 for flights between Japan and destinations in the Asia-Pacific region.
The charges will also be applied to all travel between Honolulu and Asia, Australia, Fiji and Micronesia. Customers who buy specified economy class tickets on or after November 1, 2009, for travel on or after December 8, 2009 on Continental Connection flights operated by Cape Air between Guam, Rota and Saipan will be able to check one bag free and will pay US$10 for the second checked bag.
